Fundamentals of Exercise and Lifting Program

The ALFA | Fundamentals of Exercise and Lifting Program is just that, a program dedicated to teaching young athlete how to properly and safely exercise in a gym environment. Athletes will be accompanied by experienced coaches who will take the time to teach the fundamentals of exercise and lifting. Throughout the program, athletes will learn how to properly perform exercises, understand important ques, correctly read and understand programs and much much more. The purpose of the program is not only to get the athletes stronger for their next season but also to develop a rock solid foundation for years of safe and effective weight training. Athletes coming back and continuing the program will build on previous skills and knowledge learned to further their lifting journeys.

Programs are designed by our in-house Sports Scientist in combination with our numerous Strength and Conditioning Coaches. With the years of experience working with University & Professional Athletes, you know that your athlete will be getting the best program Calgary has to offer. Our philosophy has not only been to get your athlete Bigger, Faster & Stronger; but also to keep them safe and healthy both in the weight room and on the field. This is achieved by programing specific exercises and movements that focus on prehab and mobility. This will not only help with increasing your overall speed, strength and power, but will help reduce injuries.

Program Details:

The program is offered in 2 different packages. The 1st package being a 19 week (Mar 26 - Jul 25) program that will span both the spring and summer season. The 2nd package consists of a 10 week (Mar 26 - May 30) program which would span the spring season.

The program will be 2 days a week ( Tue/Thu ) and all sessions will be an hour long. 5-10 minutes dedicated to warm up & activation with the remaining 50 minutes being for the lift. Throughout the program, athletes will slowly be progressed through body weight movements to light weight dumbbell exercises.

We would like to note the athletes will ONLY be progressed once the Coach feels that they have mastered and effectively comprehended the current exercise set. Athletes will not be progressed until such time. A lot of learning will be happening within these 10 - 19 weeks and we are excited about it.

TESTING

Athletes will undergo initial baseline & post program as well as weekly weigh ins so that we know the athletes are on the right track.

Testing will consist of the following:

-20 Yard Dash
-Shuttle
-Broad jump
-Max Push Ups
-Height
-Weight

Athletes will be sent progress overviews that will consist of the weekly weigh ins as well as the initial and post program testing. This will allow both the athlete as well as the parent to experience the physical and mental increases together.

PRICING NOTE & CANCELATION POLICY:

Although pricing is on a monthly schedule, the program is priced on a session by session basis. Our cancelation is as follows: Refund's will be dispersed within the week of the cancelation. Program refunds due to cancelation with be half the remaining sessions in the program. For example, if your athlete has 6 sessions remaining in the program you will only be refunded for 3 of those 6 remaining sessions.
