Who are we: The ALFA Project is a Strength and Conditioning facility dedicated to offering top of the line training and programming to both athletes and individuals alike. Our philosophy has always been to create an environment in which athletes and individuals can push themselves to reach their highest potential. Our advanced clients & teams get the direction they need to compete at their highest levels, while new clients build the necessary fundamentals to feel confident in the gym – all in a fun, comfortable environment. Our main focus is on amateur to professional athletics (Football, Soccer, Basketball ect.) while wanting to grow our general population offerings as services. What the Role is all about: The ALFA Personal Trainer/Strength Coach builds strong long lasting relationships with clients so that they can better understand their personal/athletic goals. ALFA PT/SC’s will curate customized programs to fit their clients needs, while tracking their progress throughout each phase. You will utilize your warm market & convert new leads to build a long lasting client book while opportunities will also be offered to coach our existing small groups & Teams. ALFA PT/SC’s are competitive & motivated individuals who aim to help coach, grow and mentor clients to reach their best selves. Responsibilities: Design, supervise and implement appropriately strength and conditioning programs to general population, youth, and athletes. Build rapport and a professional relationship with teams, clients and athletes and perform routine check ins. Utilize online software for delivering client programs as well as maintaining accountability. Build a personal and ALFA online fitness brand (Socials). Regularly report session satisfaction, updates and incidents to your direct manager Keep current with industry research to offer the most up to date services to clients. Ensure the training environment is fun, engaging and professional. Inventory and safety check the weight room equipment and help inform ongoing equipment repairs and needs for training and new programming. Configure and help organize the weight room, equipment and support the overall daily training environment at The ALFA Project on an ongoing basis. Provide training support/guidance, where necessary, to all training guests. Enforce code of conduct within the facilities and manage any behavior concerns appropriately. Create 1 informational/educational blog post a week Knowledge & Skill Set: Attention to detail to accomplish all relevant tasks completely and accurately while ensuring the safety of ALFA Athletes. Excellent communication skills to build personal and professional relationships with ALFA staff and athletes. Work independently as well as within a team environment. Technically proficient and competent in coaching and performing key lifts and movements. Ability to adapt to multiple training demographics and have proper progressions and regressions for individuals within those populations. Passion for curiosity to further knowledge in the strength and conditioning field. Passion for helping others achieve fitness goals and developing the individual or team What Comes with the position? What We are Looking For: 6 months+ of personal training experience with a valid certification (e.g CPT, Canfit Pro) Experience in sales. Experience with athletics and sport with connection in your community University degree in Kinesiology or related field is considered an asset Recognized professional certifications such as the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP) or National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA) an asset You are required to achieve First Aid and CPR prior to beginning employment Able to lift 45 pounds unassisted.
