THE HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL PROGRAM
The ALFA| High School Winter Football Program is the core of our Off-Season training programs. It is designed to get you bigger, faster & stronger for your upcoming spring season.
If spring football isn't in your future and you are a grade 12 looking to play Jr. or Usport, this program will be what sets the tone for your upcoming spring camp.
The Program is designed to build muscle, strength, speed and power so that you can peak physically before your season or camp. You will be exposed to scientific phased based programming that will allow your body to develop in the most effective way possible. Standards and expectations will be set to 100 as this program progress throughout the 10 weeks. Programs are designed by our in-house Sports Scientist in combination with our numerous Strength and Conditioning Coaches.
With the years of experience working with University & Professional Athletes, you know you will be getting the best program Calgary has to offer. Our philosophy has not only been to get you Bigger, Faster & Stronger; but also to keep you safe and healthy in the weight room and on the field. This is achieved by programing specific exercises and movements that focus on prehab and mobility. This will not only help with increasing your overall speed, strength and power, but will help reduce injuries.
Programs
We offer 4 different program options to fit your Off-Season needs.
Get Fast: This program is dedicated to developing top Speed. All Lifts and movements will serve the purpose of developing single leg explosion and power. This Program will be 2 times a week and 90 Minutes long (10 Weeks). The Get Fast Program will focus mostly on straight ahead running mechanics.
Get Strong: This program will be dedicated to developing both strength & size. This program will be 2 times a week and will run for 90 minute sessions (10 Weeks). Running session will consist of more change of direction & quick lateral movements.
The Hybrid Athlete: This will be 3 days a week and will consist of 3 days from The Get Fast & Get Strong program. You can mix it to whatever focus you want to have for the off season (i.e 2 days “Get Fast” 1 day “ Get Strong)
The Elite Program: This will be 4 days a week and will consist of both the Get Strong and Get Fast Program.
All Sessions will be 90 minutes long with 5-10 minutes dedicated to warm up & activation, 15 - 20 minutes dedicates to Speed/COD development and the remaining time being for the lift.
TESTING
You will undergo initial baseline & post program testing which will consist of the 20 yard dash, shuttle, broad jump, vertical, bench, height and weight measurements. Weekly weigh ins will also be conducted so we know where you are and that you are on the right track to hit your goals.
